I don't see why upgrading to 18s would be a problem. If you plan on purchasing larger wheels, you will of course need larger tires.

What makes you hesitant?

I believe the IS220d comes with 17" wheels. You can change to 18, 19 or even 20 if you want. You'll need the right tire sizes and offsets though!

Read the side wall on your tire, that will tell you what size rim you have. and yes 18's will fit.

and what killais250 said.

Lol that thread ate all of my free time for months when I was trying to decide what wheels to get.

On another note if your concerned about performance then you should look at wheel weights because you can definiteley feel the effects of a lighter wheel setup versus a heavier one.

Lol yeah I wanted lightweight wheels, but then I fell in love with some heavy ones. So now Im a little bit slower but it is worth it to look so good.

Um well personally anything 22 lbs and below is light. 23-28 lbs medium. Above 28 lbs heavy. But frankly in general rims are about looks. So I definiteley put looks far above weight in terms of priorities. If I tracked the car id think differently, but I don't. And looking out and seeing a set of rims that look good will give you more pleasure than the fractions of a second you can gain or lose from different weight rims. That's all just my opinion though.
