That's really nice. I know a member who had his wood painted at a body shop piano black. Might be cheaper. I heard the window switches may be different on the newer models. Try sending Sewell an email asking about fitment.

 

It won't fit an 06-08 as far as the door panels are concerned. Also keep in mind black is going to show every scratch, scuff and dust for days.

 

As an owner who has black in his car, I can confirm that the dust is annoying at best.

I'd much rather have the silver.

I was just going to say..."what about the scratches?" lol but someone beat me to it.

I don't know about having glossy black pieces like that inside the car, especially on an area that is no doubt going to get scratched up over time.

Another option would be to Vinyl it, Aereotect sells a good kit judging from previous threads i've seen.

Well it can be buffed with detaling stuff so I won't mind doing this once a while :P

But the door trim might be different then...

 

Email sewell and see if they'll break up the kit for you and have your door pieces painted by a body shop

 

I actually haven't noticed much issue with scratches. I mean I try to avoid touching it, but even then I haven't really seen many. The dust is a much bigger annoyance to me. If you like to put stuff down there, or whatever more frequently, scratches may be a bigger factor for you.

I did this to the interior pieces on my car. I took them out and had a local body shop spray them for $30. They really aren't prone to scratches all that much as mine have 3 or 4 coats of clear on them. Dust is easily noticeable on them, but if you keep your car clean, it's really not an issue.

I really want to do this to mine as I do not like the wood look. Has anyone with a black interior done this?

 

I plan on doing it to my car really soon. I have a 2011 loaner car right now that has black interior with the piano black trim. It looks great! Once I get my car back I plan on taking the parts and out and sending them to my bodyshop.
