That would involve spending some cash on some mods.250's are probably more famous for good gas mileage than launching. You could trade up to a 350 or an F to get you going.Heard there was a supercharger on the scene, but I have yet to actally see the thing.

Several people have had superchargers on their cars. There's one for sale in the classified right now. IMO, you're in the wrong car if you're trying to launch an IS250.

The best bang for the buck, by far to making an IS250 faster, is to get an IS350 instead. 102 hp for about $4000.

Modding the 250 you can spend twice that and still add significantly less than 102 hp.

If you want a IS250 to be significantly faster you bought the wrong car.

1500-2000 is way too high to launch on the 350.. you will end up spinning tires for a few seconds..

How to make IS250 faster:

1. Put car in "D"
2. Drive to Lexus dealership
3. Put car in "P"
4. Trade in Car for IS350/IS-F
5. Put IS350/IS-F in "D"
6. Drive

No seriously though, if your looking for something faster, you bought the wrong car. The ECU is untouchable and bolt ons will only net you small gains.

I think that pretty much succinctly and hilariously answers this question for good.

Disable the Traction control. Use pedal dance if you have a pre 2007 or disable it from switch of you have later model.

Keep the car in Drive and Normal ECT setting. Brake torque to about 1500 RPM, then mash the gas on green.

Then enjoy the ride as you watch the car next to you blow you away.

As other said, IS250 is not a fast car. It's more of a cheap luxury, sporty sedan. I picked it because of the comfort and handling. Speed wise, it's good for daily driving. It's much faster than my previous Civic and Corolla, so I'm not complaining it's slow.

That's good to kno... I'm jus sayin what I've seen on here though. I've never launched anything but a rental car and I jus held the brake for like a sec no idea what the RPM was...

Any suggestions for this guy though?

Umm if you're in a 250 you didn't lose to the Cobalt because you launched poorly, you lost because the Cobalt is more than a second faster to 60...
