Just curious, when the car is slowing down, is it normal for the car to skip the 3rd when the car is slowing down or under braking? Ie. 6->5->4->2->1.

I begain to notice it since I normally keep the display the Gear Position but did not bother to pay attention until recent.

If I were to quick tap on the gas when it's slowing down to 4, it then it goes into 3, as it thinks I'm going to accelerate.

 

Mine seems to skip 4 th.

 

I think it will differ from car to car as the ECU learns your driving style and will chose the gearing appropriate to it.

If you've ever driven a STD trans vehicle for an extended amount of time, you'll find yourself skipping gears when both up and down-shifting.
