Default Transmision acting weird

So lets say I'm driving and I see a stop sign. I do not come to a full stop, but almost there and it feels like the optimal gear to move forward would be 2nd, but once i push accelerator car shifts to 1st gear (revs 2-3k) and then quickly shifts to 2nd. And once it shifts to the first gear you can really feel the pull.
Also if i push it very gently then i don't get that pull but car still shifts to the 1st gear and revs ~2k
Any ideas?

you should always come to a complete stop at all STOP signs.....problem solved, you'll start in first.

Nah, for real though, how many miles? Is it in ect power mode?

Is it in D or S? If you leave it on D, the car adjusts shifting and throttle response to your driving habits...

disconnect the ECU from power for a few minutes (can disconnect battery, or easier is pulling the ECU fuses).

After that if you don't want it to learn shifting behavior then leave it in S-6, which gives you the same 6 gears, but turns off the learning behavior

Thanks! Will do that tomorrow morning and hopefully this will solve the issue.

Mine does the same thing, its annoying but seems to be normal. You can also set it in snow mode when your going to be doing a lot of start stop start stop and that makes the car start out in 2nd instead of first.

So i reseted my ECU today and overall I can notice a smoother shifting. As far as the described issue I need to do more driving, but the car still shifts to 1st gear. Although If you go really easy on the accelerator its definitely smoother.

EDIT: Did some more driving and now issue is completely gone! it doesn't use 1st gear if you go easy on accelerator
