Default Tire stretch question

Hey guys,

I need a fast response. I briefly browsed but it was mixed answers. Maybe experts on tires can chime in.

I decided to get wedssports sa55m.

F: 18x9 +36 Tires: DWS - 225/40/18
R: 18x10 +36 Tires: DWS - 255/35/18

I have a 06 is250 awd. I will be lowering soon as well on bcracing coilovers. The main question is will i be safe in NYC with those tire sizes? Potholes and dips are what im afraid of. I believe both tire sizes will stretch a little bit. any suggestions? Thanks!

225/40 on a 9 will have little-to-no stretch at all.

I don't think your tires will be stretch..

a lot of ppl run 225 on 9' and 245 on 10' like myself...

To answer your other question, You could be fine driving. You will have to re learn how to drive with that profile tires and if you're lowered. It just takes patience. Some cars come stock with those profile tires. You'll have to learn the route and areas to stay away from.

^i know what you mean....nyc is full of the dips and potholes plus my drive way is pretty steep which is why i probably wont lower as much but more than fsport springs. I will be on bcr coilovers. hopefully itll eliminate the gay body roll.
