so im planning on using xenon depot's 4300k bulbs. to be as close to stock color as possible. Does anyone know if they are 55w setup? If so what should i get to match the fogs to them ? so basically i want the 4300k 55w setup for low beams and the 35w setup up for fogs. What would be the closest temp. to match?

From what I've heard couple weeks ago. DDM tuning will no longer sell hid kits as the failed or defective kits are too high and they couldn't fulfill their lifetime warranty promise.
This is what I heard from a friend and I am not sure so I will not be responsible for anything.
I had 8k fogs on my 06 IS250 and hardest was to mount those ballast.

My suggestion is don't get a regular kit. Search for All-in-one hid kit for a 9006 bulb
This style is made and design for fogs. True plug and play as bulb and ballast are built as one.

If someone is putting this kit into consideration feel free to PM for more info as I know how these are made.

I also have one for sale 9006 6000k

isflyby21,

Don't go with a 55W HID kit. Many vendors sell you 50W ballasts with 35W bulbs meaning that they simply overdrive 35W bulbs to achieve more light output. As a result the bulb will fail prematurely. Furthermore, 55W HID kits create more glare and have uneven light spread. We do not sell 55W HID kits. Please see this page for more information about XenonDepot HID kits and why we do not sell 55W HID kits.

rgarjr - It depends on the ballasts that you are using. You are correct that HIDs draw more power upon start up however our HID kits use true low draw ballasts. The reason I say "True" low draw ballasts is because I see many vendors claim that their ballasts are low draw when in reality the are far from it. Our Xtreme HID kit uses ballasts that only draw up to 4.5A on a cold start. There are ballasts out there that draw up to 15/16A on a cold start which means that you will need a relay harness for those ballasts 100%!

I don't believe this is true, as I just successfully ordered (and it's since shipped) a slim ballast 3000k 35W HID kit from DDM Tuning.

To the best of my knowledge they are still selling HID kits however they kits ship directly from China now. Not sure how this will affect warranty issues given that they cannot legally import ballasts/bulbs into the USA.

Steve

so basically i should go with your extreme kid for both the fogs and the low beams at 4300k? and this should be ok for plug and play right into the original harness?

Hi,

Assuming you were looking to purchase a XenonDepot HID kit then that would be ok. I was just saying that generally speaking do not go with 55W.
