Default Valet Button malfunctioning

Hi Everyone,

I want to get Lexus to admit that there is an issue with the valet button and issue a TSB to get it fixed or at least compensate us somehow.

I believe that we have a lot of power on this forum and if enough of us are having the same issue then it is most likely not us and most likely an error in engineering.

We all love our vehicles, we love Lexus and we love the customer service...otherwise we would be driving something completely different. Therefore, if Lexus turly cares about "The Passionate Pursuit of Perfection," then they will listen to us.

I would folks to start sharing their stories about how it makes them feel about their vehicle and the brand when they run into situations when the valet button keeps popping up.

I know when I have to go running out to the car wash technicians and push in the valet button just so they can get into the trunk...it's a little embarassing that I have this fancy car but it keeps malfunctioning on me.

I live in Minneapolis and it gets uber cold here. For some reason...the way this valet button is engineered...the button becomes disengaged when it's freezing outside.

I have called Lexus of Wayzate several times to explain that this only happens when it's freezing and never during the summer.

I truly believe if we continue this thread and get enough people to answer the poll above that we can get the attention of Lexus and hope they make some amends.

Good Luck To Us!!!

Default valet button

Well...it appears that I am the only one having this issue so I think I will just deal with the button popping out every winter.

I don't understand your conclusion. The poll showed you that this isn't an engineering problem, you simply have a broken button. If it's out of warranty and the dealer won't cover it as a good will gesture, why not replace it on your own dime?

It's covered by the glove box door. Pushing it disables all trunk release buttons on the car and fob, so if you press it, lock the glove box and take the mechanical key out of the fob, the valet cannot get access to the contents of your trunk.

Yes, happens to me every once in a while. Happened just yesterday. The switch in the glove-box pops out on its own (or something) and I can't open the trunk. Its a PITA because I normally have my hands full of something that I am trying to put in the trunk when it happens.
