Okay guys, so i just installed the VML tonight. So far the sound quality its very good for the digital output. Only thing is, when you plug your ipod in, its not longer usable as an ipod. I cant scroll thru any music or playlists on the IPOD itself. Yes i can see it on the nav screen and all but after a minute or so the nav screen switches back to the map. Is it possible to still use the IPOD while plugged in or im missing something? Or do i just have to press the audio button everytime to see the songs.

There's a setting on the 5th gen navigation, at least in the Prius (probably in the IS as well, I believe it's the same unit). If I remember correctly, it's somewhere in the display settings. Switching back to map is mighty annoying...

I just installed my VML yesterday also. The sound is very good. Like stated above....you can turn off the auto map in the settings of the nav screen. All scrolling will be through the nav screen. I have to look through the manual some more, because I noticed that the VML isn't displaying alot of my tunes that are on my ipod. Not sure why not.

ideally, i would like to be able to scroll thru the music on my iPod at the same time if needed. not just the screen, which DOES have a little lag.
