Default Vertex kit questions

Hey Guys,

I've been learking the forums for a while and currently have been seriously considering replacing my GFX kit with the Vertex full kit F/S/R.

First question, does the rear VERTEX kit require cutting like the OEM GFX did? I currently don't have the GFX rear lip on my car, and my rear has never been modified in any way, but I do notice some people cut to modify the GFX to fit properly.

Second question, does the vertex front require removal of the OEM stock lip or does it go over it? I can't seem to find the thread regarding the different lips that go over stock, and removal of the lip all together for install.

Also NextMod has a replica Vertex kit on their website, compared to the authentic lip this is a pretty significant difference in price, Hows fitment for those with the Nextmod rep? Also there's a few Ebay vertex reps around too.

Lastly, Anybody have pics of Vertex installed on a lowered/slammed IS on the OEM 18's (5 star 10 spoke).

I apologize in advanced if this has been covered!

Thanks CL.

First off go with Authentic, fits much better. Second I have Vertex front and sides with GFX rear, I like the GFX rear much better than the Vertex and it all flows well. Yes you have to remove the stock front to put on the vertex but its super easy..

No cutting required for Vertex, nor need to take off the front lip. I can't speak for the replicas though.

No cutting required for the rear installation lip?

Also the guy above us mentioned that you do infact have to take off the OEM lip, I assume its like if you were installing the GFX or INGS type of lip..

Can anyone confirm this? Also NextMod's site has the replicas which are the same sellers as on Ebay, Curious if anybody has tried Nextmod Vertex Rep on there whip.

thx

I once bought the NextMod's Vertex rep front, build quality was horrible, it definitely needed a lot patches/re-finished before painting. It fits ok, but your need to drill holes etc to make it fully secured on the lower bumper. I ended up pay $$$ on shipping and returned it as I did not feel well to re-sale it to any CL members. The authentic one looks much better with pre-drill holes that seem to be a direct bolt on.

Ah okay, thats what I was hoping to hear... I do believe the FAB lip also requires you to take off the OEM lip for install.

I may go with the Authentic lip after all...

For the price though I may as well get the BCRacing coils and stick with my cheapo GFX kit

I've been looking at the Vertex cause that truly is a LIP if i've ever seen one ;p

I'm assuming from manufacture themselves for authentic;

If there are any other links please chime in.
