Default DRLs Disabled...How To Screen Shots Using TIS Techstream

Recently I had access to a Toyota TIS Techstream computer. I took the opportunity to disable my DRLs instead of going to the dealer and having to explain to them and/or have to pay to have this done. I have read on this forum that some dealers tell people that it can't be done. Well, here is the proof and what you can show them if they don't know where to find the settings. It took only a few minutes and it was done. I hope this may help some of you:

TIS TECHSTREAM LAPTOP INITIAL SCREEN:

CONNECT CORD TO OBD II PORT AND CLICK "CONNECT TO VEHICLE" UPPER LEFT CORNER:

ONCE CONNECTED, THIS SCREEN WILL POP-UP. ENTER YOUR VEHICLE INFO:

THIS WILL BE THE NEXT SCEEN. CLICK "CUSTOMIZE SETTING" UPPER LEFT:

CLICK "LIGHT CONTROL":

CLICK "OFF" ON THE DRL LINE:

CLICK THE "APPLY" ARROW:

CLICK "NEXT" TO SEND INFO TO ECU AND COMPLETE PROCESS:

FINAL SCEEN SHOT SHOWING THE DRLs ARE OFF. YOUR ALL DONE AND CAN CLOSE PROGRAM:

From that screen, it looks like you can also adjust the sensitivity of the auto light function... can you also adjust the sensitivity of the auto dimming dashboard lights? I hate how every time I drive under a bridge they change.

Thanks. Do you know where we can get this program? The BMW program I have downloaded is available online throughout various forums and you need a $100 cable for it to work. The other downside is that its in German but the things you can do with it are amazing.

You need the Mongoose cable which retails for $495. http://www.drewtech.com/products/Mon...ngoosemfc.html As for the software, Techstream Lite, which provides essentially the same functionality as the full Techstream software (but on works on 1996 and later vehicles) is available to anyone with a professional level TIS subscription ($55 for two days, or $995 per year) https://techinfo.toyota.com/techInfo...ite&_nfpb=true

pfdaxe,

Just curious what does the "Unit conversion" do in the Techstream? That I maybe interested I because I want the display read outs to be in metric instead of the international system, whatever I can change things to.

Thanks

That I'm not sure about. I just used it to disable the DRLs. Maybe someone else can answer what that is.

So basically only $550 if the dealership is unwilling to do it for me. Anyone in the NJ area willing to go halfsies with me??

Looks super easy, only if I had all the equipment/software necessary.

I managed to find out from Lexus what it does. It only changes the current MPG readouts. See attatched.
