Default Tint Cut Question

Just had my tint applied yesterday and it looks great! However, I just noticed a cut out they applied for the rear break light. Is this standard? If so, I totally get it I suppose, but just feel like it's a really noticeable difference in the back window with the light there.

My other question is, if it IS normal to do, did they do the cut at the right place? When looking at it in line with the rear of the car, it's cut a little more that half way down the back light! I'll try and take more pics with the brake on and sorry for the crappy pics.

Our back windows can easily be tinted without having to cut around the brake light.

My guess is that the shop you had it done at didn't have the right tool to get behind the brake light so he had it cut around it.

IMO it doesn't look as nice having the tint cut around the brake light.

WEAK! So there's no law or anything around having it cut out? Anyone else in VA have this happen on their tints?

I think your tint shop was too lazy to take apart your rear brake light so they cut around it.

Is it necessary to remove the light in order to tint it?

I believe so. All they have to do is remove the plastic housing and they can go all the way down. My guess is that they did remove the plastic since the tint is below it already but chose to expose the light for safety reasons. Don't think thee is a law saying you can't tint over it. In CA I believe for the rear tail lights you have to be able to see them from 25ft. away. What do you plan on doing?

True^^
they were probably too lazy haha

I work at a tint shop and I've never had to cut out around the brake light unless I absolutely had to.

*runs to go check Micaiah*

Edit: Nope. Mine is tinted all the way down. And if there's any law that would be strict on that it would be Cali. They get you for anything.

I watched mine done, they don't have to take anything apart.

If I were you I'd call up and tell them you want it done right. It looks stupid like that.
