Default man you guys're right, IS250 is soooo slow

not regretting the purchase though since i got a hell of a deal. at street driving the car feels fine, pretty solid low end torque to get the car moving, but the problem occurs on the highway when you want to pass someone or merge into other lanes, but once you got up to the highway speed 75mph plus then it's a smooth ride. i didn't buy the car with speed in mind in the first place, but now i have to really think through maybe i should switch cars with my wife, her '09 TL feels much faster than this.

Depends what you call slow. I came from 95 Corolla to 99 Camry Solara before IS 250.

I would call the 95 Corolla being slow at the freeway speeds trying to get a pass but I can still can manage fine with it.

Hmm... I don't have any trouble passing other cars or merging into other lanes. If anything, drop it to S mode, paddle my way to the right gear, and off I go. I've also got some bad plugs that need replacing soon, so I'm probably running on lower power too. But people in Seattle drive slow (and those who can't get another speeding ticket).

Oh, I'm in an '10 RX350 since my car is getting new wheel bearings. Heavier car, but bigger engine, and I still don't see that difference when driving normally. Yeah, I've punched it and it moves very nicely, but I wouldn't do that all the time.

Slow down people. :P No need to rush.

I have a TL and a IS, the TL does have a bit more HP and torque, but once again I didn't buy any of the cars for speed, but for a nice, luxurious, hot lookin ride.

Second that... I came from a 97 Toyota Corolla and 2004 Honda Civic Lx. Now that is SLLLOOOOOOOooooooooowwww... I remember the big rigs cutting me off in my freakin Corolla going to Lake Tohoe. My corolla was just making alot of noise on the lowest possible gear going 50 MPH because it couldn't go any faster.

Sure, IS250 can be slow but it depends what you compare it to. At least it can still kill like 60% of the cars on the road.

should i really have to downshift or go into sports mode to get up to speed with other cars... on a daily basis? pedal response seems really poor like it's either power or no power. car feels awesome and really shines in sports mode though.

Did you test drive an IS350 before your purchase?
