vents temped out at 163.6 degrees driving with the heat on and low fan, that's cookin! with the cold A/C on low fan got down to 37.1 degrees!
couldn't get to my phone to take a pic of it when it was 163, Is it common to have such a good a/c system?

 

I don't know how common it is. The A/C in my IS350 is leagues better than my previous car, though. I've been extremely satisfied with it.

I'd say the perforated seat cooling is mediocre at best, though. It's not a deal breaker for me but it's certainly an area that Lexus can work on for future models.

 

Yeah I've never been in a car who's A/C can jet out cold air as fast as our cars. I dont use the heater too often (Houston...), but it jets out some damned hot air too. Shortly after getting the car in '09 i realized just how fast it can cool down the car in the summer compared to others.

Ventilated seats, heat works well (my gf's jetta's gets a lot hotter though) and yeah, the cooling feature doesnt perform THAT great, but it still works.

 

my outside temp once read 108, im not sure how accurate that was. Then again it was sitting out in the sun.

 

When your idling at full temp in -10 degree outside the temp is way lower than that. hopefully its not just my 350. It gets to the point where it is blowing cold air rather than even somewhat warm. That is until the motor is under power. Even if i have the air being circulated.

 

The seats aren't cooled is the thing...

Caddy has actual cooled seats (and they were pretty awesome when I had em in a rental in vegas- they actually got COLD)

The 2IS has vented seats.

Which means it's just fans blowing whatever temp the air is on you.

If it's hot air you get hot air blown on ya...it's cool air, you get cool air blown on you.

Hence if you want the vented seats to be "colder" you turn on the AC cold, and direct it via the floor outlets only.

As I recall there's one guy who took some cardboard and actually re-directly the rear floor vent to blow up into where the seat fan is, and obtained quite cold seats that way.

 

Interesting, I might try that out when summertime rolls around.

 

i like the ventilated seats cause i dont get a sweaty back when driving for any extended time. convienent when you have to dress up for work
