^what he said. when those bottles say they raise your octane by say 5 points. they actually mean if you fill with 87 and use the octane booster. you'll end up with 87.5, not 92.

eg. 1 point = 0.1 octane rating.

Your car requires 91 octane. Which they sell at the pump.

Using less is a bad idea.

Using more does absolutely no good whatsoever.

And as noted octane booster that raises octane say 8 points really means it raises it by 0.8

My car label at least Octane 95. Different in country? Lexus in US only label Octane 91?

Octane is calculated differently in the US vs international.

This.

Most countries use RON (research octane number)

The US (and Canada and a couple other countries) use AKI for octane... which is the average of the RON and MON numbers.

91-92 RON is 87 AKI
95 RON is 90-91 AKI
98 RON is 93-94 AKI

I put 93 where im at in Florida. I use to run Octane booster in my motorcycle at the track and it was a waste of money, I ended up tuning my motor to run off 116 in the end.

Running higher octane than the factory recommended is a complete waste. It doesn't add any horsepower and has no benefits. Only way to gain out of the higher octane is to completely upgrade the ignition and timing system.

It's like expecting a Honda Civic to go faster with 91 Octane... not gonna happen unless I advanced the timing and installed MSD ignition kit.
