The battery they replaced it with is manufactured by Interstate and has 84 months warranty. However, I'm not sure how it's going to work if I every have to make a warranty claim on 84 months battery since it was replaced for free. Also, although it states 84 months, many of those months are prorated.
My take is when I have to replace it next go around,I'm just going to get Kirkland, Duralast, or DieHard since proration would not be worth it from the dealer.
So what is the deal with "red tops" and "yellow tops"? I am not familiar with battery lingo, how are they made by so I can check the reviews on them for the IS. My batt is getting low so I wanna replace it in a month or two.

The factory battery is 4/50k, if they replace the battery during that period, the warranty is unaffected, it would still be covered under the 4/50k. If you pay for the battery outside of warranty, then it is covered for the 84 months (2 years free replacement, 5 years pro-rata -- At least in Canada this is how it works).
Anyone know of an aftermarket, quality battery that is a direct replacement (exact same dimensions) for the stock battery?
You an search battery websites sizing to see if it matches the factory Lexus size. I think they're based on a group size. I think our cars is a group 24. Some have more CCA )Cold Cranking Amps) and others are deep cycle and maintenance free.
Guys you won't believe this but my original Panasonic 80D26R car battery in my 2006 Lexus GS300 is 11 years old! I finally changed it this week because I live in CT and I could hear the starter cranking longer than usual. I'm pretty sure this thing would have lasted another year no problem.
Anyways, I'm a research nut, and I found the best replacement battery to be a Bosch 34. I recorded a video of the process because I had to modify then plastic battery cover, and I needed a spacer. Let me know what you guys think. BTW: I tested the cold cranking amps (CCA) of the original Lexus battery and the new one.
