Default engine check light and traction control light on?

So yesterday i had both the check engine light and the traction light both come on, at first i thought it was the gas cap so i tightened it and it went away, then today it came back on, at the top of my head i can think of 2 reasons, low oil level or dirty engine air filter, so i checked my oil level and it was pretty low so i added some in there but the lights are still there, and i just washed my filter and right now it is drying, below are the list of mods i have..

2010 AWD IS250
Full F-sport intake setup (installed a year ago no issues at all)
Tein S-Tech Springs
18' staggered 06-08 IS350 Wheels w/ 225/40/18 Tires all around (TPMS installed)

does anyone have any clue as the why the lights came on? I would take it to the dealer but I want to have an idea what is wrong so I know what mods to swap back to stock before I bring it in so the dealer will not void my warranty. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Take it to Autozone and pull the codes (or get your own OBDII scanner to do it yourself). Don't worry about taking it to the dealer - you don't have any mods that would void an engine warranty.

Run the codes and report back might be your best bet

montgb is right. The check engine light can illuminate for dozens of unrelated conditions, and until you (or Autozone, or the dealer) reads the codes, it is just pure speculation what the cause could be.

My thought is who installed the intake has nothing whatsoever to do with the warranty on the car, nor can they "void" your warranty simply for installing your own parts, Lexus-made or otherwise. If it's under warranty take it to the dealer. If it's not have your friend pull the codes and go from there.

Loose gas cap, or bad gas cap o-ring. Get the codes anyway. Tighten gas cap, it will take quite a while to clear on it's own if that was it.

The car is new, why wonder about it, just take it to the dealer. You're paying for crazy depreciation, you might as well get them to take care of you.

so before i can bring in my car to the dealer, my car died on me when i was in the middle of a stop light, rpm dropped to 0 and the car stalled, put it in park and started it again went back to zero even after a few tries when giving it gas. Had it towed to the dealership. Is this the valve spring thats doing this?

Crazy...feel your anxiety Phresh2010. My lights went on too for the first time. I had a Viper remote start system installed 3 weeks ago and thought it might be related to that but not sure. It went on for the first time last night (our first COLD night). I turned the car off and restarted and the it was clear. Not sure what the deal is...I'll be monitoring it today and maybe run by a Autozone to have them pull codes if it comes back on. Minnesota is getting hit with the first snow storm of the season so I would like my ABS and TCS to be functioning correctly.

You should get a loaner for any work that's more than 8 hours/overnight... that's nationwide Lexus policy.

(some dealers are more generous than that and provide loaners for any work over 2 hours... but all of em should provide one for overnight service at a minimum)

Default problem

I had the same thing happen to me. I called and they said try the cap since I had just got gas. Not it...took it to dealer and they said it could have been my aftermarket intake...i think it's BS!!
