I had the same thing happen to me. I called and they said try the cap since I had just got gas. Not it...took it to dealer and they said it could have been my aftermarket intake...i think it's BS!!
It could be, the MAF calculated the amount of air flowing through the intake into the cylinder based on the factory size. If you increase the diameter it will throw it off and it won't be able to adjust the AF ratio correctly, therefore it runs rich and can clog up a o2 sensor. What you then need is to reprogram the computer whihc can't be done on the stock computer. So lesson here is the aftermarket instake needs to be the same diameter or you get a different MAF.

I am NOT trying to be a azz here but you have read too many books my friend because this statement is complete poop. The problem he has is NOT related to the size of his "F Sport" intake! "F Sport" Is made FOR LEXUS BY LEXUS! Though if he left off a tube going to the intake and thereby created a huge air leak this could cause his stalling problem.
He may have contaminated his MAF sensor as He did say he was washing his air filter.. Our MAF sensors are VERY sensitive, and will die if they come in contact with oil such as the stuff in K&N filters. So if the car is starting and stalling my guess would be a MAF sensor or the electronic throttle controller is acting up. I would definitely lean to a bad MAF sensor, either way don't worry about it's under warranty.
This is weird because I was just chillin in my car with my girl for about an hour with the engine off but everything else was (start button twice) and out of nowhere my nav screen shuts off to completely black and shortly after my car did. I thought it was most likely from the battery being over used but what I find weird is after letting it sit for half an hour I tried to start it and it started but with the red triangle sign with the "!" sign in the middle, the traction sign and the check engine sign were all on. Also the display said "check VSC" I got home in a hurry and after letting it sit overnight I turned it on in the morning and everything was fine. Any ideas?

I didn't read all the posts I just saw one that said aftermarket intake.
The F sport tubing is the same diameter as stock. It wouldn't be the air leak that causes it to stall it would be the hose that wasn't plugged in creating a vacuum leak. But it would allow the car to run with a rough idle, it wouldn't stall occionally. Your MAF could be disturbed

Need to know what the codes where. VSC I believe stands for Vehical Stability Control but that will come on along with everything else when you get a check engine everytime.
I had check engine and VSC go on. I called the dealer and they said check the gas cap and give it 2 days to clear. Next AM the car was not idling properly. I drove it in and picked up a loaner. Fuel injection problem. Repaired under warranty and no problem since.

There is a injector recall but like I mentioned any problem where the eng light comes on will set off all lights.
Okay I guess that's a little relieving but I drove it all day today and no problem. Hopefully it was just the gas cap.. Didn't mean to thread jack either OP, sorry

This is right about where you say... You know Ming, you were right all along a incorrectly installed intake will cause a vehicle to stall and not run properly... But then again we already knew what you were going to say...
Run the codes and report back might be your best bet
My car is having the same issues... Idling issue, slow acceleration, shifting slowly. Auto Zone scanned my car: Misfires, Battery running hard?, ABS. Do I need a tune-up or sparkplugs changed?
please assist.
