I tried search but could not find the answer...

My left low beam just went out, and I want Xenon Halogens.

Stock has HID's right? Do i need anything to switch between an HID to a Halogen?

I was going for 8k lowbeams, 6k fogs, and idunno bout my DRL's yet

Thanks!

Come again? Do you have HIDs or halogens right now? It sounds like you want to switch from OEM HIDs to halogens, which makes absolutely no sense.

what you need to do is find out if your low beams are halogens OR HID's.

replacement is as simple as swapping bulbs - given that they are the same lighting system type (i.e. halogen, HID).

also...

Okay, a bit of clarification:

HID - high intensity discharge aka xenon
Halogen - standard lighting, yellowish

If you are standard halogens, then you can either get higher color temp halogen bulbs, from luminics, sylannia, etc, but those wont be HID, just a bit "bluer/whiter" http://www.luminicsbulbs.com/hyper_white.php

or a HID kit, which would include a ballast, wiring and HID conversion bulbs.

or if you got some extra cash lying around you can upgrade to OEM HID headlights
http://is.sewellparts.com/accessorie...-2008-133.html (use CL login to get extra discounts)

If you have HID lights, then you just to need to get replacement HID bulbs, D2s (correct me if I'm wrong).

hope this helps

look halogen to me, both headlights and fogs. if you want hids then you need to get a kit because you will need a hid ballast for each bulb.

Your car is an 06 right? that one is really easy.

Do you have memory seats?

If so you have factory HIDs.

If not, you don't.

No, just the headlights are HIDs. There's no such thing as factory HID fogs on US models. (I think Japanese models could get factory HID fogs but they're an insane amount of money to import, like a couple of grand just for fog lights)

(the reason it's easy to tell for you is on 06 models HIDs only came on the sport and luxury packages, which are also the only two ways to get memory seats... on 07+ models however HIDs were also available as a stand-alone option)

Well I was on Ebay today and found exactly what you are looking for.

Here is a link to different options. There are a lot of different sellers, just go with the one you are comfortable with.

Our lights are D4S model

Different colors are;
4300K Yellowish OEM - 3200lm - 3k hrs
6000K Ultra White - 3000lm - 3k hrs
8000K Brilliant Blue - 2500lm - 3k hrs
10000k Violet - 2300lm - 2700 hrs

But don't be fooled by higher number, the 10000K actually has the lowest Brightness/Lumens and shortest lifespan

those lifespan ratings are a general representation of all (read: high- and low-quality) D4S bulbs, though most inferior-quality bulbs will not last anywhere near those lifespan ratings.

if you're looking for high-quality D4S bulbs, consider the GARAX brand:

I was thinking Xenon HID's... what do you guys all have?

And also, should I just get a new Halogen Fog bulb or replace the fog housing to an HID setup?

Cuz I want the 8k (Light blue) lowbeams and 10k (dark blue) fogs
