Third Mod: Redouts

Third Mod: Redouts
i have to say.. 09-10 models are quite difficult to apply the redouts!
especially the parts where the orange sticks out from the red.. it's very difficult to get the vinyl to bend around the light.. and at the same time stay smooth (probably also due to the inaccurate cuts)
that's where my flaws are.. the vinyl isn't smooth at places where the light bends
anyhow.. here are some pics! you can probably spot the flaws in the close up pics
the left side has little bumps if you look closely.. that's because i applied the left side yesterday night, but figured it's too dark to move on so i took it off and continued today. i guess taking the vinyl off and sticking it back onto the gloss paper doesn't keep the vinyl from dirt and dust
this set of redouts is probably the cheapest i can find for 09-10 models on the internet. if they don't work out in the near future, i'll probably get a set from aerotech or somewhere reputable
i'd have to say.. the cuts on these weren't the straightest and definitely weren't the most accurate shape

thanks man!
not sure if all vinyls are like this.. but i noticed that the vinyls reflect light differently than the other parts of the back lights.. that kinda gives off that the part where the vinyls are applied are of different material.. kinda like a cheaper plastic look
but i guess i'd rather have this than the amber light
i'm guessing cheap and expensive vinyls give the same glare effect?

thanks snubbles and asakura~
asakura, where did you get your redouts from?
you guys probably don't notice the flaws much from the pics.. but if you look up close in real life you'll see if, and you can definitely feel the bumps at the corner of the lights
but then again.. probably 90% of the people who pass by my car won't notice the flaws.. only the friends who care about cars will look close enough to point and laugh at me

thanks 516IS shadowman relaxfoo!
relaxfoo, you'd probably say otherwise if you see the stickers in real life
i'm interested to know if anyone with a 09-10 model got the vinyl to be perfectly smooth at where the light bends.. and at the same time got it to cover the entire amber part
probably due to the bad cuts from the ebay seller.. if i smooth out the sides.. the sticker doesn't align at the amber part
thinking if ones from aerotech are like that too?
perhaps doing our own cuts with rvinyl would be the best? but then again i'm not that handy to cut my own vinyl.. or i should say i'm lazy
definitely makes the car one step closer to perfect shadowman!

no worries man, just like my redouts, i don't think anyone will see the flaws unless they come real close to my car
