I recently bought my first lexus and noticed when driving, there's an odd cricket noise coming from the engine bay. It sounds like a noisy air conditioner, but is audible when the a/c is off and it becomes more intense when I let off the gas pedal. Does anyone know what this could be?

what kind of car? there's a recall for engine noise (valve springs) on 06 to 09 IS350, GS350, GS460, and LS460.

And I should also mention, the noise is not present when the car is standing still - I only hear it when I'm moving

ur fine, all isx50 do this, lexus tried fixing it but it never worked...bring it in to the dealer, it should be still under warranty since its the engine, but im sure it might come back...i got a 2010 is250 with 350 miles on it for a loner and it made the noise, pretty loud i might say, i just turn up the music

trixxx519, not the direct injectors. I've heard the injection close up and this is completely different. It sounds like a chirping a/c unit but not coming from the a/c
