Default Bluetooth speaker phone pick up delay

When you receive a call on your phone, and you hit the off hook switch on the steering wheel, how long do you have to wait before the other side hears you talk, or you hear the other side talk?

I feel for my 2010 IS250 with the iphone 3GS, it takes around 3 full seconds before i can talk and the other side can hear me.. which does bother me at times

i end up saying "hello? hello.......? hellooooooooooo?? oh hi what's up?"

just wondering if this has anything to do with the fade in volume of the speaker phone.. and if it does.. if there's anyway to turn off the fade in function and just have the volume come in full to minimize the delay?

maybe the other side hears me right away.. but takes 3 seconds for the speaker phone volume to fade into full volume?

I'm not sure, bro. Mine is pretty much right away. Only a slight 1 second delay before the screen comes on and I am able to talk/listen.

I usually hit answer and count a second or 2 then say hello. It's not instant.

I also have a 2010 IS250. The BT call isn't that quick... there's like a 2 second delay. I usually have to say Hello twice.

I have a 1st gen iPhone.

Mine does the same thing. Both with Blackberry and Droid, so I don't think it's the phone.

I have a 2006 model
With the phone i had last year (Nokia E90) the off hook was instant.
Since a changed my phone (Nokia N97) i also noticed the delay.
So i beleive also the phone has something to do with it.
I also noticed that with the new phone it takes longer to disconnect from car's bluetooth device when i turn off the engine.

hmm.. so i guess we are working backwards in technology nowadays

phones becoming slower in picking up calls
cars going back to the ghetto green digital clocks..

but great info! thanks man~
