Lexus listened!
Haven't been around in awhile, so apologies if this has been beaten to death:
Brought my '07 in to the dealership for some minor stuff and got a '10 loaner. Well, smack my *** and call me susan, but Lexus actually listened to complaints and made changes! All of the interior issues (that came to mind) that I had with my car appear to have been corrected. Much better materials quality on the center console, navigation area and front panels. It appears they also changed the gasket and door seal materials so they don't make the car sound like a 15 year old suzuki! WooHoo.
Asked a week ago if I would buy another Lexus and I would have slapped you square in the chops.....but now....yeah, I think I would give it a fair shot.
Question for the experts though: Is this just new car smell, so to speak, or did they actually make lasting quality improvements? Will the new materials stand the test of time?

^ It could be that the '09+ models have more underbody panels, which supposedly help reduce wind noise. I've been in '09's and '10's quite a few times and didn't really notice much of a difference though. Maybe it's because my tunes are always blasting and my midpipe drone hides any weird noises.
Likely older car vs. newer car. This would be common with any make or model. Lexus hasn't changed the interior materials nor have I read anything about more door seals. (Someone have a link to that?)
They just add chrome strip to the center console, that's about it. The navi interface is a little bit difference than my 07. Everything else seems to be the same for me, nothing really stood out. The only exception was the 10 Loaner had a squeaky rattle on the steering wheel at speeds above 70 and my current car while my current car doesn't rattle.

Had an 07 IS and just bought an 2010 IS a couple of months ago and I also noticed the car's exhaust note sounds "beefier" for some reason. The leather is much softer and the quality feels better. I also like the two tone leather with the different colored stitching. The bluetooth with phone and media support is way cool. USB connection is kick *** with an iPod.
Loaners are usually very low mileage car.
I see no fault with my 2007 interior, the door panels may make a bit of noise,
give me any 2010 models and let me drive 10k miles on CA roads then we shall see!
it's hard to compare 2007 to 2010 technology, most cars even half the cost of 2IS for 2010 have USB and bluetooth..

For all those saying its just new car....my car never sounded as quiet and well put together as this one. I had squeaks and rattles from day one and got progressively worse until about 5k miles and then I hit a plateau without it getting much worse since.
What I really want to know is if the '10s have also started showing any signs of the materials not wearing well.
The inside certainly looks better / cleaner to me... when I got my 09 from my 07 the first thing I noticed was the navi set up looked better... my car doesent really makes noises... haven't even heard the dash board crack in a while... jus turn up the tunes and enjoy the ride
