Quick question for those that already have the previous version - if you don't want to hack the navi or use the override from Prestigious, can you still use this while driving? Or will you not be able to scroll, etc...?
Hi all... I have a 2007 IS 250 with Nav (no ML), and was looking for a ipod interface, and came across the new SL2iC: http://www.vaistech.com/products/home.php
The interface looks awesome on the factory nav screen! I have a few questions though:
1. Will it work on the 2007?
2. Does it play video?
3. When will it be available?
4. Group buy???

3) the info you get is what i heard as well

Thanks BROCIOUZ for all the info! If they can actually pull of an interface like that, this'd be the best nav/ipod/iphone implementation out there.
The price is a little steep, but it might be worth it.

Infact, the dealer installed a vais ipod hookup in my car before selling it in 2006 (I got it preowned), but it doesn't work with my iphone 3g, and honestly i don't know which vais product it is

the ipod kit in your car doesn't work with iphone 3g? how come? it doesn't play songs? or it just doesn't charge?
i might be wrong, but for 2is if there is no nav, then there is no "screen" at all right? that means this unit will be a complete overkill.
installation for 2is is pretty straight forward. from my experience, just take your time and you are good to go.
you mean the sl2vi (and sl2i-up)? when you are driving, video will not be displayed, and you won't be able to go to into folder/file scrolling. you can still use track and disc button to go up and down on folders and files of course

Did you mean to say video will NOT be displayed? I thought you need the hack/override module to play any kind of video while in motion.
any update on the release date?
I just read that this only supports iPod Touch and iPhone...that sucks for anyone who has an older version of the iPod as their main music player.

I last heard it was pushed back to late September. But who knows how long it will be.
I think one problem Vaistech will face is that their products are hard to update, and Apple updates iOS all the time, so they will have to solve the challenge of how to keep the adapter in sync.
