I took my 06 is 250 into the dealership today for the dealership assessment of the dash and door panels. I have 111k miles on mine. The Lexus HQ said they will call me with an answer in 2-3 business days. My melty dashboard creates reflection which causes a glare all over the windshield and makes driving during the day dangerous! I live in Alabama and it stays pretty hot and sunny here. I will post what they decide to do about it after they contact me.

all of these dashboard melting reports are coming out of hot and super humid environments - hot climates sans high humidity or any other climates for that matter don't seem to have issues with is owners' dashboards melting.

Can someone post a pic? I've never seen any off this "melting" dash you all speak of... (Maybe because I live in the SF area lol)

Yes, Lexus knows about this problem. I have a 2007 ES 350. The dashboard material is defective and melts (gets sticky) in warmer climates. When they replace your dashboard expect them to pay for the dashboard but not labor if you are out of warranty. Sad things is, the replacement dashboard is made of the same faulty material. I am now using reflective windshield screens to see if I can prevent a recurrence, but I'm not hopeful.

If the dashboard has begun to pit pictures would be helpful, but it's really a tactile experience. The material is soft and your finger wants to adhere like it does to packing tape. Lovely.

I am specialist in treating sticky melting surface. Save the environment use less plastic. Do not need to spend more money to change the dashboard just treat it and reuse it, will be as good as new,
melting dash can be due to any reason, any place and anywhere. Just treat the sticky surface to remove the top affected layer and it will be fine. To maintain just use a water base wax to protect the surface and when the sun is hot it will evaporates and oil base product will brings up the temp.
go to youtude, you can find your sticky solution there.

The same thing happened to my dash. Get a spray bottle with rubbing alcohol and a clean soft rag. I promise it works, just make sure you have patience. The white rag will be black in mintues. Good luck hope it works.

It's basically flat color grayish & black. Looks ten times better then how it was. If you do just wipe the plastic pieces with alcohol not the airbag.
