IS 250 nearly stalling at full stops
My wife's 2007 IS 250 with about 15,000 miles intermittently shudders at stoplights, feeling like it's about to stall. My IS 350 has never had this problem, so of course, I didn't believe her. Until it happened to me today when I was driving her car. She's reported it to the dealer, who has been unable to replicate the problem. Has anyone else encountered this problem?
Thanks,
Denny

I would encourage anyone experiencing this issue contact Lexus Corporate (800- 255- 3987 then press #4) so that Corporate realizes how pervasive this is becoming among owners of 250's. I had the TSB work performed and it came back shortly thereafter and Lexus now says it is "normal". They need to know that customers with newer Lexus' will not accept this.

I just had the engine cleanout fix done at my dealership. They made it seem like I was making the problem up, and said "my VIN indicated that my vehicle wasn't affected" but they did it to shut me up anyway. I've had a lot of issues with damage at my dealer, so they know better than to **** me off.
The car drives and idles much better than it did. It was rough at idle, and felt like it was going to stall out at idle from time to time. I've driven 300 miles since they fixed it and it works perfectly. Drives infinitely better than the loaner IS250 that had 1600 miles on it.

I've experienced this problem once since owning my IS250. I'm curious as to why it doesn't happen more on a consistent basis if it's due to carbon build up. I mean, once you have carbon buildup, shouldn't the problem show up more often instead of randomly happening every once in a blue moon?
In my car, the rough idle began on an intermittent basis but over the next year it grew to occur consistently- now sometimes more vibration felt via the steering wheel than other times but always present after warm up.
It will happen again because it's a design flaw with the 4GR-FSE to have direct injection only, with no way for the engine to be self cleaning, like the rest of their port injected or combination engines are. Every 20,000 miles or so under warranty, just take the car in and have the service done for free.
