Default Strange noise from steering wheel

Hi Guys
I have been notice that in my 07 IS250 around steering wheel area making some strange notice when I driving, its sounds like electrical clicking noise. Sound like “dadadadadadada”.
Just want to know if anyone else had this problem, its very ignoring when driving. Sounds like some wire inside the dashboard and steering area are having some leakage problem.
If I bring to dealer how can I explain this issue to them?

Thank you

Hey it seems like it could be a steering assembly issue but no real way to find out unless you take it in. What's your mileage? If you're still within warranty I suggest you take it in & have a tech go with you on a test drive that way you can show him your concern. Let us know how it all works out. This can be useful information for someone that might come across this issue.

Any updates on this rattle noise behind the steering wheel??

I have a 2008 IS350 and having the same problem. I brought it back to the dealership in Toronto, Canada two times and they can't replicate the noise and did nothing about it.

Also, anyone tried to fix this problem on your own without begging the dealership?

Thanks in advance!

I think I have this also. It sounds like the noise a watch makes while it is shaking. I took that off and it continues. Anyone figure out what it is. 2009 is 250

Yeah, I have this problem too. Doesn't happen all the time and dealer can replicate.

Does it sound like a relay clicking on and off or is it more of a vibration type sound?

Is it coming from when you turn the wheel or does it do it all the time? And are you absolutely sure it's coming from the wheel or can it be your wheel well or even behind your firewall?

If in fact it is from the steering wheel, perhaps you need to lubricate the mechanisms or even check the clock spring. Alot of your cars are newer than mines, so I don't see why it would be your clock spring, but just a thought.

To me, the noise is either coming from the dash or somewhere near the steering wheel top cover. Sometimes it seems like a buzz noise and in some occassion sounds like a "tick tick" noise. And most of the time this noise appears in cooler weather, I would say below 16C, and usually in the morning too. Doesn't matter I drive in straight road or making a turn... if it comes, it comes... so frustrated, especially when the dealer has the car, they can't replicate the noise and do nothing about it.

This would make me cry for you if it was your powersteering pump. Or maybe it just needs fluid, that's my only other guess. Try to ask them if the levels are good or have them or someone you trust with your car drain the fluid and replace it. See if that gets rid of the noise.

we don't have fluid or a pump...it's electric steering.

wow dropped the ball there lol. If that's the case even more electrical stuff to troubleshoot. Guess that's what happens when you go from an 1989 car to a nice luxury, you tend to forget the electronic age is taking over. DOH! I guess when hearing he's having buzzing or humming noises, that was my first reaction because of older cars that use to do that with power steering.

I have had the same issue for the last 4-5 months on my 07 IS350. Took it to the dealer twice and they have wrapped every wire and part in the column and dash with felt and the sound still happens. It's annoying beyond belief. Mine sounds most like it comes from the turn signal area. I am tempted to peel it all apart and drive around until I can locate where the hell the sound is coming from.
