Default Check Engine/VSC Light Q's

so I just installed my HID kit and only unhooked the air filter/ sensor. Now my check engine light and VSC indicator is on.

I thought I came across a post saying that those indicators will automatically go away after several driven miles on the car. Is this true and if so how many miles roughly before it will go away??

Also ive read that you can disconnect the battery for 5+ minutes and that may reset the warnings??

Any suggestions on what to do?!?

Thanks!!
