Default Safety Recall

I have a 08 IS350 and when I signed into the Lexus Owners Site I have a message that my car is involved in the recall for the gas pedal to be reconfigured, the all weather mats to be replaced with a newly redesigned mat and for the brake over ride to be installed. Has anyone had this done yet and what exactly does it involve?

I would like to know in what manner the gas pedal is being reconfigured, also I think the brake over ride is a software change to the ECU but I am not completely sure.

If anyone has any information on this I would appreciate it

Thanks

They physically cut the bottom of the gas pedal

The brake thing is an ECU change.

Quite a few of us who are smart enough to use the correct floormats, and install them correctly, are going to be refusing this "recall" because there's nothing actually wrong with the car and we'd rather they not hack up our perfectly nice gas pedals or prevent us for being able to brake-torque the car.

He is correct this is beyond a hack job. Just take a look in the ES350 forum and you will see pics of what they do to your pedal and carpet. I would refuse this fix as there is plently of room. I know some dealers are being very strict on this. I work for a dealer and the main reason is they want make money off it and bill lexus. They also will not do the ECU change without the hack job. My dealer anyway. I don't think that its rite at all. But the main reason they are being so strict is because they want to bill lexus. It is not mandatory at all!!! All you do is sign the work order that you refused the campagin.

There are already several threads discussing these topics. You can search this forum using the keywords 'pedal', 'recall', and 'floormat', which will yield all the information you care to read.
