Default Navigation unit gaps

Ive had my car since late 07 and always noticed this and saw online that it might not be normal.

Is this normal?

I have NEVER done anything to my navi unit. Its been like this since day one and I just lived with it. Now im just wondering if its suppose to be like that. I thought since our dash boards were so soft that it flexes and dosent sit perfect.

I have gaps like that too, especially on the top. I thought maybe the sun warped it, or maybe that's just how it is.

I took it in to the dealership few times and they returned it saying that it was same when compared to the other vehicles... I just learned to live with it but it does bother me because sometimes it creeks and pops loudly there....

Usually the gaps get worse each time you remove then Nav unit (at least with mine but since you never touched yours nvm). This is actually something I think Lexus should address for the next gen 3IS, better fitment and less panel gaps. Regardless, it is pretty common among 2IS's to have some sort of gap around the nav unit. I just live with it

Yep, same problem here. The more you mess with it, the more gap.

My navi isn't a virgin. The gaps are very spread out.
