06 IS 250 Nightmare

Angry 06 IS 250 Nightmare

I purchased a 06 IS 250 Sport navi, 18" stock wheels, bluetooth with 19k miles. Bought this car on Dec. 28th. A month later the paint job on bumper started peeling, took it back they repainted it. Now 1 week later, the transmission goes, they are replacing with a new one. This all happened in less than 2 months. I previoulsy had an ES330 fully loaded and never had a problem with it. Traded it in for the IS and all this has happened. Can I return the car or request a different one? Whats next? A new engine!!

Nothing is perfect. Cars are complex machines. Things can and will go wrong, even on a Lexus.

I'm sorry to hear about your troubles. How's the dealership handling your case?

it also depends on local lemon laws as well....

They are fixing whatever is wrong with the car but I have spent more time at the dealer than on the road. I purchased a lexus for their reliability. Thank GOD the car was CPO

For every 1 bad story there are 10,000 good ones.

Every brand has a lemon.

That being said, if that car is bad luck, ditch it!

I'm giving the car one more chance. I just dropped $3,500 on some wheels I have not been able to put on yet. Just needed to vent out!

They are 20" Lexani staggered wheels (black, machine polish, and chrome) car is black on black. Have to see how they look on first, the car has stock 18" wheels and looks pretty low. I am also going to change all the lights to xenon in and out.

That's the reason why I don't buy used cars (private seller or CPO).

Check w/ your local lemon law to see if you have a valid claim.

hate to say this, but peeling paint on a bumper means its been repainted before, a sign the cars been in an accident.
Look on the bright side, your getting a brand new transmission!

LOL that's what I told my wife about the transmission. Car Fax has no accidents reported and dealer said that previous owner probably painted it before trading it in. I really like the car so hopefully this will be the last problem. I owned 2 previous Lexus before and never had problems. I was actually going to buy an 06 350E for about same price but IS had lower miles and I liked the reliability from previous Lexus.
