I got 2 cans of brake cleaner. I cannot mask up the calipers for painting until i clean and prep the caliper first. Is it safe to spray the brake cleaner onto the caliper area even if it might get into the brake pads and other places? I dont plan to drive the car for a few days anyway.

The brake cleaner says it can be sprayed onto any brake system and helps prevent the brake noise that builds up

Just wait until you see how fast brake cleaner evaporates, and you will answer your own question
