Default Double locking feature

IS*50 has a feature of double locking of the door locks when it is impossible to open doors from the cabin (some kind of child lock).

But I'am not quite understand how this feature is activated? Sometimes when I double push the lock button (on the key or on the door handle) not fast enough it is still possible to open the doors from the cabin... But while the doors are locking I hear the second "click" sound of the locks.

In other words, when I push "lock" button, than wait a second and push it again and hear "click" sound - what it does (if it is not double locking)?

lower your windows, lock the car, wait 30 secs. from the inside unlock the door. The actual lock and not by the switch. Your alarm will go off and the doors will relock themselves.

Pressing the lock button button does nothing (other than turn off your headlights if its on auto) what you are hearing is the doors trying to lock again as if they were not locked. You can press the lock buttons 100 times and still hear it.

The child locks are a small sliding lever on the inside of each rear door on the upper trailing edge. You will see it if you open the rear doors and look at the rear inside edge of the door itself. They disable the interior handle so you can only open the door from the outside handle. It's a manual process and can be a real annoyance for adults in the back seat but it's intended as a precaution to keep children from opening a door without approval.
