Default 2009 LED Puddle Light

hey, I'm kind of new to DIY and I found a couple on here of changing the puddle lights but I tried doing it on my 2009 today and had some trouble not sure if it is because its a little different then the 06-08 models or what, but if anyone can help I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

You just need to angle the mirror and unscrew the 4 screws. Then pop the mirror out with a credit card and replace the bulb with an led. Then reverse process to put back together. Make sure everything is aligned properly to make it easier.

I got the 2 outter screws off fine but when it came to the ones closest to the door side it was veryyy hard to get the screwdriver in from the angle the mirror goes.

you can also push the mirrior in from the top and then grab under the mirror and pull up. the mirror is held in by clips.

i had an easier time just facing the mirror all the way up and putting both hands between the mirror and the housing then pulling it out. I had to use some force but just pull the bottom up and it will just pop right out. i was kinda scared doing it cuz i thought i was gonna brake it but it came out easier on my other side. Good Luck

There are threads out there on this already. Why is '09 different? I followed the instructions from the other threads and it worked perfectly. The mirror clips are robust. Put mirror all the way up, pull from bottom. It will snap off. Remove screws, put in your LEDS, and replace. Align the mirror to the clips at the top looking up from underneath. Them clip in at the bottom. You will have to support the white plastic thingy from behind wiith your index finger, pinching it back on. Again, these clips are robust. Good luck.

Check out this thread, it's a few pages back, within the topic they discuss where to buy the LED's and which ones...
