Read this thread. It will answer many of your questions with real world results and lab analysis, not conjecture or feel good approaches.

Mobile 1 fully synthetic 5w30 ... the 15k mile stuff (although I don't wait that long to change it).
Also an OEM filter element.

10K may be okay for a vehicle that is driven on weekends but probably not for a daily driver. I change my oil 2x a year after I racked up anywhere between 5500 and 7000 miles.

I use Mobil1 conventional in spring/summer/fall and switch to Mobil1 synthetic for winter.

Weekends? I drive 20k a year. You can see my UOAs from my IS350 and my IS-F here. They never went less than 10k and I'm on a 12k run right now with Mobil 1 5w-30. The analysis ensures it's not too frequent or too infrequent.

Casual driving is harder on oil (and just about every other consumable on the car) than regular driving anyway.

Lobuxracer - Thanks for the feedback. Can I do filter change at the same interval (10K with Mobil 1)?

lobuxracer, I viewed that thread you linked and it was very interesting. I believe the climate where you drive around in and how you drive the vehicle are factors on the OCI. Typically after the summer months, my oil is black. That right there is enough sense for me to change my oil. That's something that I was taught. We have hot & humid summers here and yes I do tend to drive hard. Those two factors alone right there contribute to oil degradation. I'm perfectly okay with changing my oil twice. I've seen posts from members here who still change at 3K. Now that makes no sense.

Amsoil full synthetic 0W-30. BEST oil I've used over the last 7 yrs on every single car I've owned...or Mobil 1 0W-30, depends on the availability of the Amsoil
