Default HID on foglights problem

Does any one here have problems with their HID kits on the fog lights..
I have been through 2 diff brands and they both have the same problems.
at first things are all good then all of a sudden after a while when i start the car one side goes on and the other side doesnt. It will only go on after i toggle the switch a few times.
is this a common problem for all? I even have a wireharness and i put in a higher fuse into the fog light in the fuse box.

maybe i changed the wrong fuse.. but do you guys know which fuse you change like which compartment number on the fuse?

what have you guys done to fix this problem?

first kit is DDM and second kit is extrahid or hidextra i forget.

hey man, your in socal, come to this meet, we'll take a look at it and try and figure whats up

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/cl-...ts-2010-a.html

but to try and answer your question, if this isn't it then come on over to the meet.
i'm running hids all around and no, thats not a common problem. how long has it been doing this for ever since you got the HID kit? also have u used the same wiring harness on both kits? sometimes the fuse on the wiring harness to the battery corrodes and goes bad.

i'm assuming when you say harness you mean the relay that runs to your battery

the relay harnesses i had where really ****ty made. i used to run them but then the fuses corroded so i just took em off. havn't had a problem since

you are not running any relays? yeah i am running relay, i just purchased a new one and waiting for it to come in. So both your fogs light up properly.. even wen you set the fog lights to turn on with the headlights on the auto setting for ur headlight control.

ooh the meet sounds cool maybe ill try to make it out sometime its hard because im up in LA for school on the weekdays haha

I had this same problem with one of my headlights when I was running a XD kit. I even tried swapped each component one by one from one side to another and still had the problem. I finally broke down and purchased a HIDExtra kit and replaced it. When I initially installed it, the same headlight I was having trouble with didn't fire up either. Then I tried plugging in the harness (as per their directions, in the case that it doesn't light up) in the reverse direction and (knock on wood) I haven't had a problem with it since. The new kit has been installed since December and hasn't failed once. I didn't have the same problem with the driver side though.....

well if that doesn't work i'm not sure.

Nah, you don't need to run those relays it'll work fine without them. Just check your current ones and check the fuse to see if its corroded or anything. it tends to happen on cheap ones when they get wet

a month ago mine where doing the same thing. they wouldn't fire up at initial start up. i had to wait a few then flip it a few times to get them on. but it was because i'm running subs, 4 hids, a ton of leds n in my car. Anyway it killed my battery(wouldn't hold enough charge) and sometimes my car wouldn't even start. i fixed it by getting a new battery and a capacitor to go on my sound system. I don't think this is your situation though, because then your car wouldn't be starting up very well

No problems here with my aftermarket HID fogs. I would say double check your connections and fittings. I can't imagine it being anything else especially if it does light up.
Good luck!
