Do you think 3m double sided tape is enough to hold the spoiler down??

Here is the spoiler painted and installed. as you can see on the 4th pic (driver side) you can see a gap between the top edge of the spoiler and the trunk... i guess i expected a lil bit of a fitment defect after saving $400 on the knock-off , but other then that small gap i think it turned out pretty well and im happy with the purchase $219us(buy it now price) + $55us shipping + $230us(cash) paint & install for a total of $504... still cheaper then the authentic. although i would prob go with authentic Wald if i were to get the whole lip kit.. maybe haha

btw. for those who wanted to know, The L emblem is bolted on the spoiler

^^^ thanks for the pic. Cant wait to get mine

Did your drill holes for the "L" on the trunk, or just cut off the litle pieces that go into the trunk?

The corner parts really bug me tho :I

To be honest im not sure if the shop drilled holes on the trunk, they told me they removed the emblem and then bolted in onto the spoiler first before installing it on the trunk. so i assume no holes in the trunk

as for the corner, hopefully yours turns out better, these FRP products never turn out exactly the same anyways. If i had that corner pushed down then the other side would go up so i'm stuck with the gap ...i'll juss stare at it from different angles so i can live with it hehe

I'm lovin the spoiler, best lookin style for the 2IS in my opinion.

The shop went with some sort of glue (with my approval) so it aint coming off, they didn't recommend just 3m double sided tape because of the gaps (from the before installation pics) said it would rip off to easily.

So if you plan on changing spoilers in the future you probably don't want to go the same route, or you are gonna have to repaint your whole trunk when you rip the spoiler off.

Its a lease, so either return car with spoiler or swap trunks with someone. I guess i will have to because i want it to be stuck there.

MOLD IT!! lol if I got the wald I would get it molded and have them shave the edges so it ran smooth along the lines of the rear. Looks good though! probably not noticeable.

it does look good.. they would be able to pull it off with that small gap... i had doubt about sticking my OEM spoiler on with just double side tape at first

Replica looks pretty good. I wouldn't mind rocking it. Gaps on the end are not that bad, hardly notice them.
