Default How much are TPMS sensors?

I am looking at buying a set of 4 used OEM wheels and used winter tires for my 07 250. I was told the wheels do not have TPMS sensors. How much are they to buy? Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks for the help, I appreciate it.

If you buy them seperately they cost about $117-$120 here in San Diego. I've bought two already from the dealership but you can actually buy a set of 4 for like $300-$400. The dealerships here in SD charge $120 to program them.

it's hard to find a full set on ebay now, but you can buy them one by one.

Like JTC said, if you get a price from the dealer, make sure he pulls up the "set of 4" price, not just (4) x the individual price. Huge difference.

I don't think buying the winter tires are worth it if I have to drop $300 - $400 for the sensors plus more money to have them programmed.

Anybody run without the TPMS sensors?

Car still works fine without em, you just have a light on the dash (and for 06-09 models, you lose use of the multi-display in the dash while it's on)

As noted though you should be able to get a set well under 3-400 on ebay

check your local discount tire or americas tire to see if they have the Bartec 400plus tool which reads and programs the TPMS to the car. Make sure you program it as a second set or switch the car to second set before they program it to the car.

I'm sure discount tire will charge less than the dealer. Its a 2 minute job if the guys know how to use the tool.

I paid $50 for a set of 4 here on the ClubLexus Classified ads last year. Typical price is more like $100-$200 (craigslist, ebay, etc). Dealers want $350-$500 plus $120 programming plus an arm and a leg to install them and remount/balance the tires. The guy who got his done for $29 must know somebody! Discount Tire price for programming is less but you have to buy the tires there or they jack up the price.
