Default New here (rims/tires help)

What's crackin' people?

I'm in the market for a set of rims (finally convinced the wife).

I've had rims on other cars I've driven, but after much reading here I want to make sure I do everything right with my 07 IS250

Hopefully I can get some insight on a few things...

I really like the TSW Snetterton wheel size(s) probably 20x8.5F & 20x10R. What offset is the best (front and rear)? How low should I go and what tire size would you recommend to minimize rub?

Is there anything else I should be aware of before purchasing wheels and tires?

Thanks...Look forward to hanging around these parts

First of all, are you going to be on springs or coils? If you want to stay conservative with those sizes than stay within the low 40s.

I see the Eibach Prokits are popular around these parts. Was gonna buy a set of them. Believe they're coils??

Eibachs are springs and not adjustable coilovers. You need to determine how low you want to go. These are some deciding factors that most people use to determine the route they are planning to go.

1. Road conditions
2. Daily driven or weekend warrior
3. Have kids?
4. Your desired look (tucking tire, no wheel gap, 1 or 2 finger gap)
5. Do you want to be able to adjust your ride height?

As far as springs go, i would search and see what setups others have. Coils are great for adjustability but cost more. And a spring/strut setup is more cost effective after you have decided on your desired ride height.

Good luck!

I'd go with 19's especially if you aren't going to be on coilovers. Springs can't lower the car enough to make 20's look proper on our car (my 2 cents)

I'm in Knoxville. Maybe you can shoot me a pm with some pics and we can chat.

I really don't think anyone in the area does a whole lot of "quality" work on cars around here. Was under the assumption I was driving to either Nash or ATL to get this done.

that looks good. to get a perfect ride height for 20's look for some megan coilover ~800 bucks and you can get it to exactly where you want, with buying springs and then paying to have them put on you would roughly be about half the price of coils, i shoulda went coils

Thanks for response!

If I have to fork out $800 for coils, I'm gonna do it. I want the car to look and ride right. (Dude with that car is on Pro-kit and his looks right??)

The last issue I'm having is, bolt pattern and offset. Any help?
