Default Roof making noises!

The headliner/roof in my IS350 08 keeps making these weird noises it sounds like a toy almost. I can't stand it! Does anyone have the same issue?

are you talking about the creaking of the moonroof? if so try put some vaseline where the rubber meets the metal.

I have the same creaking for the last 3 years...for a 43K car...its pretty annoying. I think its the body twisting causing the headliner to creak

I've been having this creaking sound from the moonroof every time I have it open too. I'm going to try this.

I have a clattering sound near my moon roof behind the drivers head. I've pin pointed it to some mechanical arm that bounces up and down and bumps hitting the sheet metal of the roof.

I usually close the shade when it does that and it becomes far less noticeable. I should probably tell them about it but I feel as though I've already complained toooo much about squeeks and rattles.

Oh well, I may try to fix it myself.

by bringing it to the dealer.. warranty should cover it. if you don't have your warranty anymore you might want to do the vaseline thing.. no idea if that works though, but its worth a try

DON'T DO THAT!!! Petroleum jelly degrades rubber!!!!! If you have to use a lubricant, use something silicon based.

Two times, I've had a loud cracking sound coming from the roof when going diagonal up a steep driveway. Certainly the car was twisting when it happened, but it shouldn't be happening in the first place. Either way, no glass broke and it hasn't done it for almost a year now. I do not advise throwing lubricant all over the place. As someone mentioned, it can break down the rubber and it also causes dirt and dust to stick, which creates further problems.
