Default Roof noise

Has anyone heard a knocking sound in their retractable roof when up? I hear what sounds like a loose strut or rod knock when I go over a speed bump or the entrance to my driveway. I've pulled the roof panels and can find nothing loose and Lexus says they have never heard of this problem. The roof operates fine (for now).

i've never heard of that. but if you live in vegas, the service department here sucks. a lot of members have had problems with them. i'd avoid them if at all possible.

It can be adjusted and made a lot more quiet. In some situations, it can also come back to a certain extent.

Try searching the forum. There are many posts on this problem.

My wife's 2003 has had this problem. We've had two different Lexus dealers attempt to repair it. One of them spent a week working on it. Fortunately, they only charged us $200 for their efforts. It helped somewhat. But it's still there. It doesn't happen frequently, just occasionally. This is a very difficult thing to find.
