Default Right HID Light turning purple??

I bought a HID kit from a group buy about a year ago, and I just noticed this morning that my right side is turning purple while the left one is still 6000K. Anyone else have this problem? Does this mean the bulb is burning out? Thanks.

severe color shifting in HID's usually means the bulb is about to go.

What he said. Be sure to replace both bulbs, or you will have two different colored bulbs

This sounds like your bulb, but if you are curious just test the bulb that went out in the other side headlight just to be sure.

And this time buy OE Philips bulbs, you won't regret it.

I bought my bulbs from mobilehid.com and its been a little less than 2 years. They told me its not normal for the bulbs to go out that fast. Hmm.. I don't want to take my intake out just to test the ballast and then wait for the bulb to come through the mail if its the bulb. Any other way to make sure if its the bulb or ballast?

put the bulb that does work on the ballast that was with the bulb that went out. if it lights, it's the bulb. if it doesn't, most likely the ballast. that's the easiest way to do it.

Well aftermarket bulbs will go out on you at any given time. Sometimes they will last a couple of years, some even a couple of days. They are not guaranteed to work for a long period of time. I wouldn't trust aftermarket bulbs to last long. Just go OEM and you will have no problems at all.
