IS350 is a fast car...but it's no EVO/STI...
Plus, remember that the STIs will kill us in auto X. My brother's 2008 STI is much faster and the previous generation STI was very fast too. Without a limited diff all we do is spin the tires while the STI's enjoy the benefit of awd with variable front rear power.

I've raced (and beaten) plenty of 335i's, in stock form.

And yes...on YouTube there are Vids of IS350s beating stock 335is. Which as I've said before is really a waste of gas.

he asked "how fast is (the) is350 really?" i believe in this case, a "yes" or "no" would not have sufficed.

and then he not only went on about how he can beat lesser competition with his is350 in street races, but he also brags about his $4000/year insurance rate. wouldn't you want to question his driving habits or his tendencies to race?

btw, imo public forum = court of public opinion. if he didn't want us to question his driving habits or tendencies to street race, maybe he shouldn't have put it out there.

if you bought the is350 thinking that you can mod it to produce ridiculous amounts of horsepower, then you didn't do your homework. BUT if you bought your is350 to get you from point A to point B in comfort, style, and with a bit more power, then you've done well.

if i were you, i'd be more concerned about your insurance rate and your driving record instead of which cars you can beat in a street race.
when i was around 24 i had an sl55 and a sc430 and my insurance was 4800 a year but beacause i was young and with 1 ticket. i actually thought it was fair.

^ that's fair, but unless the OP isn't telling us something more than what he's already posted, $4k a year for an is350 is a pretty high amount, wouldn't you think?

An IS350, I would think, should be nowhere near that price of a SL55 or SC430, let alone the two together. The fact that he's paying $4k/yr and only paid $800 more for those two cars should tell you something. My g/f pays $1100 for full coverage on her IS350 fwiw...

Comparing insurance cost is too off-topic and meaningless without knowing driver's age/driving record/marriage status/coverages/deductibles, etc.

Yes. I agree with everything you said as long as we show him respect as an individual.
And also to FisforFast, I have beaten BMW 335i stock without too much trouble. That's why I stated "from personal experiences" in the first post I made.

4k per year is pretty high. I'm only 18 and I don't even pay nearly that much for full coverage.

don't understimate the hr 350z they will walk over the is350. trust me I had one. stock power was 306 hp and 0-60 is faster than an is350. Although I'd take a crap on both of these cars with my mighty F =)

Two of your friends are street racers? Is that considered a profession now?
