Exclamation Staggered setup on AWD ! - The Mother Thread - !

I want to open this thread where PEOPLE WHO ARE ACTUALLY RUNNING THIS SETUP (Staggered on your IS250awd) post here -

Please post on these topics:

- What is your exact wheel/tire setup ?
- How many miles you've been running this for ?
- Are you noticing any issues (gas millage ect...)
- Also post your general thoughts/comments

Again, people who are actually running this setup - or - people that are well educated on the topic - please post here so we can have a dedicated thread for this highly debated topic.

MRR HR2's
19x8.5 +35 up front with 235/35/19 exclaim UHP's
19x9.5 +39 in rear with 275/30/19 exclaim UHP's
rolling diameter is .1% difference which is virtually nothing
had the tires on since March. approximately 15,000 miles on them so far.
no issues what so ever concerning the awd system.
gas mileage is about the same, averaging currently with my commute about 24mpg 50/50 mix.
dropped on F-sports. front has a very minor rub and is pretty close to flush, and the rear is slightly tucked behind the fender by less then a finger.

- What is your exact wheel/tire setup ?
F - 19x8.5 Face-1 35mm offset. Toyo Proxes T1-R 235/35/19
R - 19x9.5 Face-2 36mm offset. Toyo Proxes T1-R 265/30/19
Dropped on Eibach springs for IS350
- How many miles you've been running this for ?
10,000 miles
- Are you noticing any issues (gas millage ect...)
No problem so far... gas mileage is about the same
- Also post your general thoughts/comments
The wheels diameter is less than 1% difference so I don't think there would be any problem

Great, so far looks like Staggered on AWD (slong as the tire diameters are close/identical) there's been no problems...

This is hardly definitive though. More post n' comments please.

like any setup it all depends on the personal users wants/setup

like fo r me i want wide and low off set and (future drop will be tucked i hope) low
so in doing so stretched tires come into play negativr camber shaved/rolled fenders

my auto teacher told me not to perform this setup as it causes many transmissions problems, but apparently everyone is driving fine huh

First off. Wonderful forum and it's full of very knowledgeable people.

Alright... so major question here to the users that are running this setup. I placed an order for staggered rims last night and I'm really hoping this will work.

Car: 06 IS250 AWD

Wheel Make & Model: TSW Snetterton
Wheel Size (diameter and width): 20x8.5 & 20x10
Wheel Offset Front: ? <-- Not sure. Whatever the default is.
Wheel Offset Rear: ?

Tire Front: 235/30ZR20 Kumho Ecsta SPT
Tire Rear: 275/30ZR20 Kumho Ecsta SPT

Suspension mods: H&R springs for the AWD 250

After some research after I placed the tire order from TireRack. I'm seeing that I'd have to drop the rear profile slightly to get the correct ratio. However, it's impossible to find lower profile then a 30 with reasonably priced tires. So obviously need to cancel this order and get the correct profile tires. Would a 35 instead of a 30 fit in the front without rubbing?

Really need some help .... If this is the wrong thread to discuss this... my apologies.

Quick Edit:

Looks like a 35 in the front and a 30 in the rear would be the perfect ratio. However... how bad would the rubbing be in the front on a 20 x 8.5 rim and 235/35/20 tires with the H&R drop?

Its just about impossible to run staggered 20's and keep the rolling diameter close without running something crazy like a 285/25/20 rear. If you could and its not too later, go for 19's. Much easier to get the diameters the same and not run monster truck tires in the rear.
