Yeah does anyone know anything about automatic trunk opening systems available for the IS?

After having fun driving my mom's LS460L, I realized the trunk opening system is really awesome. From one touch of a button, the trunk opens and closes by itself!

I think this would be a great addition to those people who have LCD monitors in the back of their trunks or having a sweet displayed sound system too (jonjon)

 

You can probably easily rig the trunk to open up by itself with some hood dampers but I doubt making it close would be easy

Do you think the hood dampers would work? or would they need to be moded?

 

SLABs have them so it def is possible lol

 

i rmb my friend showing me on the camry forum of some guy hooking a bungee rope to the trunk and some lever and it pulls the trunk open wen its lock is released

 

My GS has this also.

 

hahaha very interesting indeed. I was wondering if we could put in a motor or something to slowly open and close? (just like the ls460 style) Or I think I am just asking for too much

I gotta open up mine manually, but it closes automatically....(due to the extra weight added on my trunk due to the spoiler )
