Obvious there's a engine difference, but just curious if the engine covers are the same. They look exactly the same, but I could be very wrong. Thank you in advance and sorry for the newbie question.

 

dont tell me you are going to put the 3.5 liter engine cover over your 2.5 liter engine ;p

 

lol i guess they are different then? I know its a very stupid question, but I have an engine cover that I 'thought' came out of an is250. Someone said it looks like it came out of a is350. i google'd it and i can not tell the difference between the two covers.

 

STOCK--> IS250 covers are black, IS350 covers are silver.

Also, I believe they have different mounting points underneath

Yup only diff. is black and silver.

 

my cover has a broken plastic clip on it that means I should spend 800 bucks on the CF f-sport cover! lmaooo

for the 2006, there is definitely a difference between the 250 and 350 covers...

 

I have a 2007 is250 awd i like the silver cover from the 350 more and I'd like to put it on my 250 but is there a confirmation that it deff don't fit?

The mounting points are different on the 250 and 350 covers.

 

Are you referring to the Top cover on the intake or the whole engine bay cover, too? There are 4 covers total. 1 on the top of the engine (this is where you say 350's is silver painted and 250's is black?). Then you have the front cover and 2 on the sides.

The 2014 has done away with the 2 side covers. There's the engine top cover, still silver painted (I used a 250 loaner) and just the front cover. I guess cost down.

 

^Yeah, I was surprised too when I popped the hood on the first 3IS I looked at; no side engine cover any longer.

I still want to get a 3IS engine cover in exchange for my 2IS engine cover.
