TPMS problem on new wheels
I had the Work Sc1 Schwert wheels I got recently made with the TPMS sensor drilled into them. When the tires/wheels were mounted I kept getting a TPMS light. Tire shop says that the drivers side rear wheels TPMS is not sitting flush and thus a small leak is occuring. They put a regular valve stem on it so it's not leaking. however I have the light on. They ordered bands and brackets to hold the TPMS on which I am getting installed later today. Has anyone else done this? Will this be ok to have put on? I am not comfortable driving with the light on and I just want everything working right.
Is it not possible to just replace the TPMS on one of the wheels? I have a slow leak in my left rear tire, that the tire shop couldn't find. I'm thinking it might be the valve. If it is, can you replace the valve without affecting the TPMS, or are they one unit?
I read in another thread that you can replace the core of the stem, so I took it to Discount tire today, and they did that for me. Also, the guy used a torque tool and tightened the bolts that hold the TPMS to 40 inch lbs. I hope this fixes my leak. They didn't charge me a dime, even though I didn't buy the tires there. I like that company.

The TPMS not sitting flush wouldnt cause the leak. Who drilled your wheels?
I drilled my holes myself and none of them came out perfect or exact but no leaking for me. The OEM TPMS seal is pretty flexible and will contour to the hole you drill as long as its not too big. Make sure you have a washer and tmps nut on the outside tighten correctly.
At first i put a seal on the outside before the washer but this will cause the tire to slowly leak at high speeds when the wheel gets hot. Just use the oem tpms seal on the inside.
Also my tpms do NOT sit flush o the wheel on the inside since it is drill on the inside of a 3-piece barrel. They kind of just float inside and the install must be careful of this or put the sensor on after he installs the first bead of the tire.
