They have to step their game up.
Well, it's reported that the new GS350 will have the exact same motor as before, which is exactly what the IS350 rolls around with. Hearing that, I wouldnt be surprised at all if it retained the same exact engine.

Remember the 3GS debuted with a carry-over engine from the 2GS for the 06. Then in 07 they brought out a new engine. Lexus is a creature of habit (regretfully). They'll prolly do the same thing.
The bad news about being an habitual entity is we many not get an IS coupe.

I would love to see Lexus come out with an IS coupe. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

I agree with others that a coupe variant should be offered on the 3IS. We'll see...

I certainly hope there is a bump in power but maybe Lexus looks at the competition - 335/G37 and feels like the current powertrain is good enough.

Reading the reviews of the GS 350 F sport has me really excited about the 3IS.

If the new GS is any indication, the 3rd IS is not much more than a slight facelift.

I wouldn't consider New Doors, Hood, Trunk and Exterior shell as just a "Facelift"

The chasis might be the same, but the re-design is coming..!!!

What are you saying?
The new 4GS is a completely different car than the 3GS. I don't see any exterior nor interior piece carried over. Everything is different except the engine and I'll bet anyone that changes in the second model year.

Interesting that Lexus filed for a trademark on the IS300h name in Australia!

I know this is the speculation thread and I apologize I have not read all the pages but was just wondering when would Lexus be annoucing the all new IS redesign. Would they be releasing news to the public late this year or in 2013 or 2014? What is everyone's concensus?

Nobody really knows, but the most popular theories i hear seem to be:

3IS info will release early 2012, 3IS will debut as 2013 model In late 2012

OR

3IS info will release later in 2012, 3IS will debut as 2014 model at the beginning of 2013.

The biggest thing I want in a 3IS is a coupe! I know a lot of people love the 4doors but as a single gal w/o kids, I don't care for em lol. Hardly anyone is ridin' in the backseat, so I also could care less about rear space, I just want my coupe :-D.

Technically the IS-C is the coupe... or do you want it to be more masculine?
