Exclamation Time for tires

I bent 3 rims all of which are covered under my tire insurance i purchased when i bought the car from lexus direct. They told me my rims are covered but then i got a phone call from them telling me i need tires they are worn, I have a 07 with 30k on the car. I have 19' Dunlop on the car and they told me it would be $570 for 3 tires, does anyone know a better tire but not so much money and good in the rain? What are my options?

Here is the link to tire reviews at Tirerack:

http://www.tirerack.com/survey/Surve...ents=Y&index=0

The current issue of Car and Driver has a tire test article on nine affordable summer tires.

1. are you sure you don't have the oem 18" rims/tires?
2. tire rack has the oem 18" dunlops (SP sport maxx A) for $196/tire for the fronts and $246/tire for the rears.

also, if you're going to change tires, change either the front two, rear two, or all four at once.

I'm also looking for new tires. On Tirerack.com when I add any tires that aren't the OEM tires (Dunlop Maxx) it says Tire Load Warning "The following tire you have selected has a higher load rating than the vehicle's Original Equipment (O.E.) tires. This typically results in increased ride harshness, which some customers may find undesirable."

Can I ignore that? I notice a lot of people use the non-OEM tires.

I bought OZ rims and Michelin PS2s from the Tire Rack, and on a stock IS the Michelins are probably a waste. But now with the JIC Coilovers and F-Sport Sways I'm sure glad I did.
Never settle for second best, you're driving a LEXUS!

You're only replacing THREE Tires You need to replace all four. You haven't given us enough information to recommend anything for you. Current model of tire and Size would be a good start.

Lightbulb back to tires

They are the stock tires that came with my LEASE> I don't own the car so dont want to change rims since my insurance replaced them free. and also i had a flat about 4 months ago and they replaced that tire for FREE. So i have one pretty New tire the other 3 are worn and need to be replaced. So i was wondering if i should stick with 3 new Dunlop that came with the car or change all 4 to something diff my lease is up Aug 2010 What to do?

unless it really matters to you or unless you're looking to keep the car after the lease, just get some cheap-o tires.

and yes, you will need to replace all four. you COULD sell that one new tire on the FS/FT forum...

and you still haven't confirmed whether your car came w/ oem 18's or not.

I put Hankook tires on the front, my backs were still good but I think im goin to replace them with Hankooks pretty soon. They were $314.00 for both fronts- mounted and balanced. I drive 3 miles to and from work so the increased sound (not really much of an increase) was not a big deal for me...it really depends on what you are going to be doing and since your lease is up pretty soon id probably put some mid level tires on there and ride them till you have to turn your car in.
