Question 06 2IS vs 07+ 2IS

whats up peoples?
i just had a quick question.
im looking into joining the lexus family with a 2IS but i heard from a friend that the 06 has some problems with the suspension. (making noises of some sort or something something or another) and if there were any another problems just with the 06's
he made it seem like the 06's had problems left and right.
i was wondering if you guys could help me and shed some light upon this inquisition.

thanks

i have the 06 IS350 w/ 38,000 miles on it. so far not a single problem, except for once in which the sunroof rattles (but got it fixed under warranty) and the 3 recalls which also applied to other lexus. i have never heard about the suspension problem and neither do i have problem with it. lexus is quite reliable, you shouldn't worry much about major problems.

In the 06, you have to do a "pedal dance" to turn off traction control. my 07 has a button for it

I just laugh when friends talk about the problems/recalls they have had with their BMWs, Mercedes, Jag, Range Rover, and Volvos. They seem to be plentiful, that's for sure.
Overheating, dead AC, slipping auto trans, electrical system blowing bulbs, leaking brakes, faulty power windows, power seat failure, wiper motor failure, new engine (not sure what was wrong with the old one), differential failure, brake booster vacumn leak, computer replacement, peeling paint, leaking sunroof, leaking radiator, leaking engine, leaking transmission and the list goes on.

They asked me about the problems/recalls on the IS, and I told them it has just went in for the fuel injection pipe thing and they felt much better.

"Was it leaking fuel all over the place like my Mercedes", one young lady said, "heck no, it was just a preventative thing!" was my reply.

"So you've never been stranded in that Lexus, ever?" she asked.

"Yes I have" I said, "When I ran out of gas!"
"I called you, remember?"

We all laughed!

To tell you the truth, I think all cars will have little problems here and their, thats why you gotta make sure you have "WARRANTY'S". But i would go with a 07 cause it has a traction buttion and HID"S.. GL with your pick

I have an 06 IS250 with 36K....never had a problem & everything works as designed. It has only been to the dealer for TSIB's and recall's..but then I get a loaner..hehe

only aftermarket springs make a clunk noise. but that is easily fixed with less than 20 bucks, silencers

to the OP: can you be more descriptive with the type of suspension problems your friend is having w/ his 06 2is? is it stock, or has it been modified? some more details and insight might help the discussion.

the clunking issue is w/ f-sport springs, which as juice14 said can be solved with spring silencers. it's not an issue w/ an unmodified suspension system.
